- Summary of Board Assignments
After the September 22nd regular Board meeting the Board discussed officer roles and responsibilities in light of recent resignations. Harley O’Neil was elected Club President with Cynthia Esselman selected to be the new Building and Remodels Chair. John Hollinrake was asked to continue on as Treasurer, with the added responsibility of Legal Affairs. To optimize the relationship between the Clubhouse and the Clubhouse Grounds, it was decided to have Kathi Peterson take on both roles. With Jamie Holter’s communications skills, she was asked to work on Special Projects with the President such as Right-of-Way trees implementation and to be the Board liaison with the Swim Club.
- Petanque courts
Two areas of the playfield have been staked and taped off with caution tape for future Petanque courts. A proposal for site and installation will be discussed at the Activities Meeting and the October Board Meeting. Until then, it is kindly requested that the stakes and tape remain until everyone has a chance to view the sites.
- Make A Splash Was A Huge Success!
On Saturday, September 26, over 180 members of the community gathered in the beautifully decorated clubhouse to “Make A Splash” in support of the project to upgrade the Innis Arden Swim Club facility. The décor was amazing, and many attendees commented that they couldn’t believe the transformation and hardly recognized the clubhouse. The food and drink was plentiful and delicious. There were great silent auction items available, and live music finished off the night. It was a fun community celebration, and many people were reminded why Innis Arden is such a great place to live.
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness in the community of the critical need to upgrade the swim club facility and to raise money for the project. One of the fundraising items was the sale of personalized tiles that will be installed at the new facility. Many tiles were sold, and the amount raised from the tiles and the silent auction exceeded $65,000. Tiles are still available for purchase. - Town Hall Meeting on Pool House Design and Financing – October 14 at 7:00 p.m.
All Innis Arden residents (not just swim club members) are encouraged to join us for a town hall style meeting on Wednesday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Innis Arden clubhouse. We will discuss the design of the new pool house – this is your opportunity to be heard and share your ideas. We will also discuss financing. The capital campaign and Make A Splash event have raised only a portion of the funds needed to complete the project. We want community input on how to finance the remainder of the project. Options that will be discussed include a community-wide special assessment, bank financing, community bond, and any other ideas that are brought forth for discussion. Please come and share your opinions!
